Holiday Caravan Sites (Wales) Bill
Response from: Park Farm Holiday Park

Christine Chapman AM

Chair, Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee,

National Assembly for Wales

Dear Ms Chapman,

I am the owner of Park Farm Holiday Park in Manorbier, Tenby.  This is a holiday and touring park, providing 120 pitches for touring caravans, motor homes and tents, and 70 pitches for static holiday caravans.

I write in response to the consultation on the Holiday Caravan Sites (Wales) Bill.

My trade association, BH&HPA has responded on behalf of all members and I endorse their evidence - on this link - to you. I would also add that the map at the end of the report clearly shows that the problem that the proposed bill is attempting to address is a local issue to the MP that is proposing the bill.

This proposal is like taking a sledge-hammer to crack a nut. It would be far better to tighten up on the existing protections that are contained in the site licensing that is currently in force. It does not appear to be appropriate to adapt and use a license for a different sector of the market that has not even been put into practice and therefore not tried and tested.

I therefore ask please that you ensure my park business is not placed at competitive disadvantage, jeopardising the direct and indirect employment we sustain.
